This new home was designed for a large 1+ acre lot near McMinnville. Views and solar orientation inspired the
home layout. We developed the site and home design based on several applicable patterns selected by the owner
from the book A Pattern Language by Christopher Alexander. This home has 2500 square feet of conditioned
space with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, mudroom, an attached garage and studio. The great room has windows on three sides,
with craftsman style shade devices. The kitchen layout is simple with a south-facing bay window at the sink for
plants and a skylight in the south porch near the bay window for natural light. Most of the south porch was enclosed
as a sunroom in 2004.
